Tape Backup Strategy- Implementation

If you are wondering on how to make a backup strategy, The following guideline provide some example on how the backup strategy is implemented.

Back up all server data files including databases, Directories & files. Following your company's standardized backup procedures, back up files directly to tape or to a file server and then to tape. Never rely only on replication as your method of database backup. A damaged or accidentally changed database may replicate, and then your only recourse is to recover the database from a server backup tape.
Follow these guidelines to back up File servers:
1.       Backup all system files
2.       Backup all important users working environment data
3.       Backup all database data

Emergency Repair Disk

Emergency repair disk should be made to all servers, this is for less downtime and faster troubleshooting to server’s crash problem. All emergency repair disk should be well kept. It can be on diskets.
